Hi there,

I know, the new machines are fairly low in price. However, there are some of
us who still have machines that are MUCH slower than 2 GHz, but that still
function perfectly fine. Also, there are occasions where $200 is simply not
available (e.g., I've been eating Ramen for longer than I care to think
about).

If you are using an older machine then my recommendation would be to look at
some of the other software packages that are out there. There are many good
web sites that list free text and word processing programs, just do a search
from your favorite search engine. If you need to use spreadsheets though,
then you will probably have to suffer through some fairly long pauses while
using OOo Calc, since this is the only free spreadsheet program that I've
had work well for me.

Hope this helps clear things up and that I didn't flame anyone too bad.

All,

I have a hard time getting excited about supporting old computers, when new
2G machines w/128M can be purchased for under $200.
