I'm running Openoffice 1.1.2 under Fedora Core 3. I have a document
about 50 pages long. While I was in the middle of spell checking the
document an autosave seemed to occur as indicated by the line of
blue squares at the bottom (I didn't catch whether it actual said "Saving
document.") At the end of the autosave openoffice crashed with one
of those popup windows that says something like, "Something really bad
just happened and Openoffice has to quit."

Is this a known problem in openoffice? Do I need to disable autosave
if I am doing a manual spell check?

Thanks.

I have never experience this and have autosaved during a spell check.

My best suggestion is to download the latest version of OOo 1.1.4.
