The kerning information is part of the font definition. It is uncommon to change the kerning in a text processor. If the font requires extreme kerning, the font developer should have added the correct metrics.
If, OTOH, you want your _text_ to be more compact, you can change it with right click -> Character -> Position, and then adjust the Spacing.
But this is different from font kerning!
