Can I appeal to all list users to put an informative subject heading when they post to the list, please?
Some have no heading at all, others use headings like "Problems".
Because traffic is so heavy, I imagine many users do as I do, namely quickly skim through the subjects in their OOo Inbox for the day, and without a useful subject heading may well miss something important.
Would it be useful when replying to such a subject-less post to add something to the heading for the benefit of future readers of that thread?

I concur whole heartedly. I use mailwasher to filter out headings that are that general (or no subject whatever). I lessens my reading time and also deletes the message from the server before download.
