Depends on the datasource for one thing. This last Christmas I used OOo to hook up to my Mozilla address book to generate mailing labels for Christmas cards. It wasn't until after I had printed the labels that I realized a couple of the addresses weren't complete (no zip code) and a couple of other problems. Not a big deal in this case -- so I had to hand address a couple of cards, so what? -- but a problem nonetheless.
I would think it is easier to check the table by scrolling through
to see where the zip field is empty? Or easier yet, do a quick
filter on the dataset to show which is empty or not?
I suspect some people think in 'finished product' format and some think
in 'database format'. I know I often pick up mistakes in a mail-merged
document that I didn't pick up in the database. I personally prefer to
be able to scan full documents in print preview before printing. I do
see this as a fairly minor issue, though.
