Hello,
I encounter some problems when I want to insert graphics in an OO writer document.
1. if the graphic size is too large relative to the available empty space (for exemple near the page bottom) OO resize it automatically. It's not very convenient for some scientific applications. Is it possible to override this behavior ? I try to protect size or position without success...
Can you begin by explaining what it is you have tried to do? You may be overlooking something or you might be attempting to use the wrong tool.
2. page layout on the screen is not always the same as described in the "flat xml" file. The latter reflects perfectly insertion process (e.g. "graphic1" then text then "graphic2" but it's not the case for layout (graphics overlapping or moving around the page...). But many times, I discovered this only after an HTML export which reflects XML data structure. Correction process is a little bit long.
May be it will be interesting to have both linked representation of the same writer file: the classical wysiwyg one and the "text based" one with xml data (and highlighting between the two). One can use alternatively the best suited to current editing task.
Today use of XML data is quite difficult. Save to "Flat XML", open external editor, correction, re-saving, re-opening in OO writer !
This part sounds as if you are not Anchoring the graphics and/or setting Wrapping correctly. But, again, we can't be certain without knowing what you have been doing.
Thank you for comments, help...
