Hi Michel,
If the files you're trying to convert are works word processor files without much formatting, you can do well by opening the file with Notepad, selecting just the readable text and pasting into writer. Works wps files have a block of formatting instructions at the beginning and usually a bunch of garbage at the end. In between is mostly plain text.


If that doesn't work for you, Microsoft has a works to word converter somewhere. Sorry, I don't have a link, but I believe it has been mention on this list, so you might find it by searching the list archives.
