My operating system is Windows XP  pro    --   using OO  1.1.1
I cannot get background  color to display in cells of a  spreadsheet.  I 
think I am following the general rule:  select the  cells,  FORMAT,  chose 
CELLS,  
click
BACKGROUND tab, select a color, click OK --  no visible  change to the 
spreadsheet.   However, if I then print the  spreadsheet, the cells show the 
chosen color.
Changes to the text color are reflected on the monitor and  printout.
In Writer changes to text color and background are visible on  the monitor 
and the printout.
Does anyone have an idea why background colors in Calc  cells do not appear 
on my monitor?
