[users] MS Works spreadsheet to OOo Spreadsheet

I too am a new user - about 3 days now!
 
I I have a very data intensive spreadsheet in Works and because  it does not 
support the "sheets" function I need to transfer it across to  Spreadsheet and 
make it far more practical to use. In fact I would like to  transfer all my 
spreadsheets into OOo as it's a far superior program.
 
Whilst I can transfer by selecting the cells in blocks only the  numerical 
content is transferred not the formulae.  How do I do this  please?
