The reason it's there is to keep OO.o loaded in memory so it runs quicker. It could run in the background with no icon but then you'd have to whoop out Task Manger's Processes tab (on XP anyway, on 95-based it's just in the main Task Manager) and kill it there to unload it. I think it wouldn't be hard to make an /option/ so you can choose whether you want the icon there or not, whether it can open the apps or not, etc. I'm with Kevin. Where do you vote to get this back?
