For real hardcore development, really good C++ skills. However, those of
us who are lesser mortals, can contribute to the documentation, create
and donate templates, macros, marketing, traslation, localization,
website development, answering user questions. We are a pretty typical
Open Source Software project in that most of the work is via
volunteering. If you have some cycles and can help in those broad areas
I have outlined, especially documentation where we need writer,
reviewers and translators, I will direct to the right place.

Thanks for asking.
