Thanks for your suggestions.
1. Export as PDF ... that experts the whole workbook - ie the three sheets, not just the report, otherwise it would be good. I could keep each report in a folder and access it by hyperlink from my Jobs sheet. Pity you cannot export a selection, rather than the whole worksheet (together with other sheets in the workbook).
2. Macro's - I haven't gotten around to writing my own macro's in OOo yet
3. Template ... that might be the answer. As you say, it can be saved as a separate file. I will have to remember to have my OOo calc workbook running when I use the template, and I wonder how it will be saved as many of the cell contents are the products of formula's. I will try it and see.

I used to type the reports using an OOo Writer Template, but this meant
typing in the Job Number, Customer Details, and all the stuff that was

THE CHALLENGE
In the REPORT spreadsheet I enter the JOB No. and VLOOKUP fills in most of
the details and I just have to type a little bit at the bottom.
However, in the CUSTOMERS spreadsheet there are hundreds of customers;
in the JOBS spreadsheet there are thousands of JOBS;
in the REPORT spreadsheet there is just one report - so what I am doing at
present is printing that report and then blanking it out so that I can use
the sheet again for the next customer's report.
If I want to save a copy of all reports on my hard disk then I have to scan
each report and save it as a JPEG or some other graphic format
Is there some way of saving just the REPORT sheet and not the whole book? -- or -- is there a better way of doing what I am doing?
I can think of several approaches: 1. Export as pdf 2. A macro to export the info to Writer 3. Have the report page as a template that has links back to the main file. Thus the report is already a separate file, but is linked. 4. A macro that copies and pastes special as values to a new file with just the report sheet.
