I am running the onboard card for my HP Compaq DL364P , I am told this is an
Intel extreme graphics controller2 using the Intel 82865 GMCH chip.

Has any heard similar issues with this graphics controller?

Not necessarily, there are some bugs in certain video drivers such as
Nivida that cause OOo to appear to be at fault. I replaced my Nividia
card with an S3 and have had no problem since.
