Within OpenOffice itself or with a Desktop > Search tool compliant with OO ? Works for me with Windows XP Pro sp2. It doesn't find text in fields though, which is irritating. I imagine it is the integrated ZIP functionality of XP that makes it work in XP. Charles --------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for pointing this out. I also use Copernic Desktop search and I sometimes wondered why the results were so sparse, but now I see it's the OOo documents that are missing. I even have some .txt files which I used to save e-mails or web pages but then formatted and saved to .sxw files. It finds the words in .txt, but not the identical (except for formatting) Ooo files.
