So, my starting question has driven me to a new discovery but hasn't got
an answer ;(
The =REPT("-";cell("width")) formula would be all right if it calculated
"width" in retation to the character within quotes instead of being tied
to "0"s!
In OOo 2.0, you will be able to format a cell so the content is repeated to fill the cell width.
