If you are trying to delete the file itself, right click on it in the file open dialog. If you want to remove if from the recent files list, your best bet is to let it be pushed off by new files. You can edit user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Common.xcu in your profile tree to remove it, but that is probably more trouble than it's worth.
