No problem.
Those hyperlinks can be a little annoying.
In OOo 2, when you right click on them, they will be selected automatically, unlike 1.1.x.
Have a good one,

Hello Peter/
Many thanks for your suggestions - all quite useful. Actually I solved it accidentally by discovering that if you click on part of the cell not occupied by the URL text (or widen the row height if necessary) the cell becomes selectable.
Many thanks again for your interest.

Hello Friends/
While I can successfully insert hyperlinks in a spreadsheet cell, I have a problem when it comes to removing them. The Help instruction for deleting, says select the cell and then choose Format - Default, and that's my problem. I find I cannot select a single cell occupied by a hyperlink, and the only way I have been able to clear the cell, is by selecting an entire column / row and then choosing Alt + Format - Default. This does, of course mean that anything else in the same column / row has to be re-formatted.
Surely there has to be a better way!!

Three ways I can think of.
1) Click on the cell next to it and hit left/right.
2) Use the Navigator. Press *F5*, then enter the cell number on top.
3) Use the address area on the top left hand side of the sheet.
