The macros that you find on the oooforum are usually installed manually. By this, I mean that yo probably need to create a library and a module to contain them. Chapter 1 from my book is available as a free download from the publisher, and it details how to do this. Chapter 1, describes how to create and store macros using libraries and that sort of thing. A modified version of Chapter 1 is also available on the ooo authors web site, but for now, it might be more difficult to find there.... I have links at the bottom of this message.

I too would like to try out this macro, but have no idea of how to install it. All the various resources on the net point to installing a single OOo file with macros in it. But the text to columns set includes a myriad of different files.

How or where do I install them all?

thanks

Thanks Paul I will give this a go. Being new to the OOo World I hadn't
realised what a wealth of macros there were.

Have a look at the following forum thread :

Lets say cell A1 contained the text "Monday,Thursday,Friday" and A2 contained other data. In Excel it is possible to select cell A1 go Data/Text to Columns... and then using the menu that comes up expand the text so that A1=Monday, B1=Thursday and C1=Friday.
