when i tried converting rpms to tgz (first release of oo.org in rpm and accordng rpm tools in slackware) for some reason i got no scripts extracted - of course, oo.org didn't work very well :)

i haven't tested that letely, though

btw, you probably meant rm *redhat* instead of rpm ;)

*Hi to all,
I've noticed that openoffice 2.0 beta for linux is only disponible in RPM format.
I've extracted the tar.gz file and I've found only RPM archieves.

Ciao Alex,

just issue:
rm -f *suse*
rm -f *rpm*

to delete the Suse and Red Hat specific RPM regarding the menus
and then rpm2tgz *.rpm
and finally installpkg *.tgz

OOo 2.0bc will be installed in /opt/openoffice-1.9.79/

I also have Slackware.

Happy Slackware,
Colossus
