Further to Paul's suggestions. The inserting of a caption, and the
autotext entry "FN" are both using variables for cross referencing. To
insert your own variable:
Insert > Fields > Other... (or Control + F2)
Variables tab.
Select set variable
Give the variable a name e.g. test
For the value test+1
Click insert
