Yes you can do both. File > Save, File > Save as and File > Print. Plus there are the icon in the function Toolbar. Since you claim you can't do this, then there is something wrong locally. To try to rescue you from whatever state you system is in, try using File > Send > Send as email to one of your mail accounts that can take a big file.
