I then tried to printout the pdf via acroread and the page breaks/page numbers/footings are all in the wrong place. Sometimes the footing line appears right in the middle of a paragraph or over the top of an image.
When viewed in Acroread it appears fine it's only when printing that a problem show up.
When I print straight from openoffice or from xpdf the document appears fine.
