Thanks for trying. But you also saw that my rtf test file was messed up, so 
something in my Oo is wrong. If I remember correctly, Windows98 does not use 
UTF encoding.

Only that I still don't know if it is some specific problem in my system (and 
where that could be), or if Oo doesn't handle the UTF language setting 
correctly (as I mentioned: If I switch to non-UTF, it works).

Has anybody tried it on standard Linux Fedora Core 3 with German language?
