oh, right.

that would be nice but i use the 'Heading levels' button for that. when i'm only interested in the level 1 headings, i long-click on it and select 1. this will only show the main chapter headings. when i wish to see all, i select 10.

I suspect that what Bob would like, as I would like it too, is for the
headings in the Navigator to be a collapsible tree control. For an
example of what I mean have a look at how I have implemented
OutlineCrossRef3 available from
http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/hillview/OOo/
