Hello,
I am using OpenOffice.org 1.1.3 with Windows XP. I am writing text documents using some tables, but when I type a numerical fraction into a table cell, AutoCorrect converts these fractions into a date; eg 9/16 becomes 01/09/16. I know how to turn off this function for fractions in the general text, but cannot find anywhere in the Help contents how to stop this happening in tables. Could you please let me know if there is a way to do this?
Thanks very much,
Rowan Shee
Hi Rowan
Try right-click on cell - choose Number Format. Set to "text" or whatever works for you. I am told that putting an apostrophe as the first character also forces "text."
