Hi Bob, First off, calm down, it's not a big issue. Over the years we have seen hundreds of similar issues on this list. You are using Thunderbird under some flavour of Windows, which leads me to believe that if you like Thunderbird you should really love OOo. While I am a 101% committed Linux user, the funny part is I earn my living from resolving issues like this for Windows users. Initially I am inclined to agree with Tam that this is not OOo issue, but if we are to help you we need to know: a) Which version of Windows you are using? (Looks like XP Home) b) Which version of OOo you have installed? c) More info on the file takeover issue. You have M$ Office 2003 installed :))). Believe me, if you take the time to look at OOo version 2.0 (expected release with the next couple of months) you will wonder why you wasted your money. If you are inconsolably "ticked off" with OOo we can show you how to get rid of it, or if you are a reasonable, rational individual, we can show you how to make it work in comfortable cooperation with your Office 2003 setup. In either case, get back to us and we will help you.
