I can insert pagebreaks alright but how do I make sure that the
indicated format is used (automatically) when I want to have "page
numbering" e.g. at the bottom right of my page?

so that on the first page it says: 1.1.1
second says 1.1.2 (there were no new section)
third (new section) 1.2.1
