May it be that the file contains line feeds embedded in fields? OOo1.x
startet a new row in that case, whereas OOo2.0 handles it correctly and
reads the field into one cell, preserving the line feed, and not
starting a new row. An example would be

"field content
continues on next line"

note the surrounding text delimiters '"' that don't close the field on
the first line.
