Ok, I wasn't aware of that and had a misleading idea about webspace
(confusing it with web site or dominium (?)). I started the procedure to
activate my webspace with the provider: it'll take a few hours to
complete.

Aaahhh! That's it: I didn't notice before there was a ruler you could
adjust to correctly fit the columns! It works perfectly now, and the
resulting file behaves like a Calc spreadsheet :-)
May be the preview window could be integrated with a small help note
saying, more or less: "Look folks, I'm automagically selecting Tab
separated fields, but be aware you can adjust things manually choosing
other separators or fixed width and moving the cursor to adjust
columns" ? ;)
Now, it would be extremely interesting were it possible to do the same
'adjustment' with the Insert > External Data commands (directly from the
web site) ...
When my webspace is ready I'd be in a position to upload the relevant
files, if you think it worth.
Thanks a lot for your assistance, Reike, I really appreciated it.
All the best,
Ennio.
