Hi -- I am using OOO2 beta on a laptop and a desktop. I would like to move personal settings, macros, dictionaries, etc. between the two machines (so I don't have to add words to both dictionaries twice, write macros twice, etc.). I can't figure out what folders or files to copy.
I am a computer novice. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you. Andrew
Hi Andrew,
I don't know of a full-proof tool or discription to help you. What I do know:
Tools|Options|OpenOffice.org|Paths shows you the places where all kind of settings are stored.
You might copy some files from one to another.
However:
- templates an basic-libraries are only (fully) functional if you install them the official way (via the menu File|Teplate and so on, and Tool|Macro|Macro|Manage and so on).
- various settings in the files depend on the path (file locations);
- so be very careful, walk step by step and make a backup first.
Succes & kind regards,
Cor
