Just curious:
Is -n a Windows thing only? I tried a soffice -n in both my install (multiuser) directory and in my user directory (Linux) and both times, it just opened a blank writer document. (I do have oooqs installed, so that may have something to do with it.)

I recently dowloaded OpenOffice (OO). I desperately want to supportyour

I'm assuming that you received no errors during the install ... what version of OOo have you obtained ? Did you check the MD5 once you downloaded OOo ?
I am using Windows XP SP2.
Dunno what to tell ya other than that, I don't even get an error
message...Nothing happens when I attempt to launch any OO program.
Potentially open a dos prompt, cd to <OOo install directory>\program and type "soffice.exe -n" and report back with what appears.
