Hello,

I'm looking for free fonds (for a student project) and had the idea to use
the open office fonds.
Could you tell me if open office has free fonds (without copyright etc) and
if so, where I can find them?
Is there a list or anything like that?
If not, could you give me a hint where I can find free fonds elsewhere?

Thank you,
Oliver

With the question about fonds, I thought he was talking about types of affection. :)

It also would have helped if the OP had stated OS. I ran into a font issue on the weekend and it wasn't as easy as it would have been for Windows users. I needed Times New Roman on Linux.

Part of the MS font set you can install using File > AutoPilot > Install
fonts form the web ... Are you saying this failed for you? If yes, the
best way to have problems such as this evaluated is to file an
issue. If you haven't already registered, do the following:

To file an issue you must register with OOo by clicking the Register
link at the top right of www.openoffice.org, filling in your information
and replying to the confirmation email that will be sent to the address
you provided. Once you have confirmed, go to www.openoffice.org again
and click on the "Bugs & Issues" link in the General links box.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It is important that you file
the issue to ensure reproducibility with your examples.

Never seen or used this feature. I searched OOo site and only saw messages for spadmin about installing fonts. I am just trying it now.

Are the fonts installed system wide or just for OOo?

Thanks for the pointer.

It may be an idea to have the autopilot for fonts to be linked from the Format/Character selection. This is where I would have looked.
