This can be done easily by using Styles.
Open the Stylus using F11. Make sure that the top of the Stylus window
has "Paragraph Styles". If not, click on the Paragraph Styles icon
(looks like a paragraph marker). Right click on Default and select New
from the context menu. On the Organizer Tab, fill in the name you want
in place of the first "Untitled1" (suggestion: hanging indent). Use the
Tab key, and "Next Style" will be changed to "hanging indent" also.
Click the "Indents and Spacing" Tab. Make the changes you mentioned. If
you want to make any other changes on the other tabs, do so (Fonts,
Font Effects, etc.). Click OK.
To apply this style to a new paragraph, use F11 to open the Stylus.
Double click on the "hanging indent" entry. Then begin typing. When you
come to the end of that paragraph, hit the Enter key. The next
paragraph will also be formated as "hanging indent".
I strongly urge you to learn to use Styles as they make the
formatting process so much easier in the long run.
http://documentation.openoffice.org/HOW_TO/index.html is a good place to
look for this information. In the Word Processor section, there are two
documents to look at carefully: How to Change Paragraph Styles, and How
to Work with Templates. The first one describes in more detail what I
just wrote, and the second one is what it says.
