But if anyone does have the answer about printing just the chart from a spread sheet page that contains the raw data, I would be glad to know it.

How about using a print range? Select all the cells behind the chart you wish to print, then go Format > Print Ranges > Define.
Check the result in Print Preview, but it ought to be just your chart on a page by itself. Then just Format > Print Ranges > Remove to clear the print range when you want the document to print the default way again.
One caveat: Make sure there is nothing you don't want to print overlapping the cells you defined in your print range.
