[users] Finding and replacing on converted files

I believe I wrote in about this once before, but I thought I'd make 
another try, just in case anyone has any new information.

I have a number of book-length mss. saved in WP.  Kword can open them 
and save them in a variety of formats, including sxw.

However, they all come through with a lot of line breaks in the wrong 
places.

Most times, search and replace _with regular expressions checked_ can't 
find these.

Does anyone have any notions as to what can be done about this?  Other 
than spacing to the end of each line and deleting the things?
