I posted late yesterday with an issue regarding font colors using Impress under OOo 1.1.3. I'm now finding a similar issue with the "Character" button. Suppose I want something to be in a superscript; for example, I might want to write 10 to the 5th power. I type "10", click the character button, select "position", click "superscript". I then find that all of the text in my text frame is made into a superscript --- tiny and raised. The font position I select applies to ALL of my text, not just the next text that I want to type.
The issue with colors is similar --- if I change color, it doesn't just change the next text I type (or any highlighted text), but rather changes all of the text in my text frame.
This is driving me batty! For now, I'm going to use an archaic version of openoffice I have laying around (1.0.2, I think) in order to write this talk, since I know the colors and font position work fine there. Any suggestions as to why 1.1.3 is acting so wacky would be much appreciated.
