Dear friends,

I am trying to create a page with a title and a table below it. But I am not sure for what reason it just never fit the table on the same page with the title.
The table just moved to the next page. I tried cut and paste but after I cut the table, the original table is still there except the content is missing.

above shows 2 pages of my document. What I tried to do is to place the table on page 2 onto page 1 just below the title of my page. I tried placed the cursor right after "title of my page" and pressed del, but it just never move the table up.
When I placed the cursor at the top of page 1, then if tried to move the cursor down the bottowm of page 1, it only takes two "enter key", after I pressed enter two times, it will jump to the first column of the table on page 2. That is weird because usually we can move down a blank page with the cursor. (such as in page 1).

I think my problem is very ambiguous...but I tried my best to explain...hope someone understand my lousy explanation and can help me out.
Thanks for reading my problem.

Not too ambiguous, but your diagram doesn't look too good in Courier type face.

When you inserted the table, did you happen to check "Do Not Split Table"? If you did, and the table has too many rows to fit in the remaining space on the page, OOo will do exactly as you describe in order to place the table where it will all fit at once.

There is also a Paragraph Style named Table, and it has a similar checkbox under Text Flow > Options.

If neither of those ideas solves the problem, look at the other options in the Table paragraph style and make sure that they aren't causing the behavior.

If it is important to you that the table not be split across page boundaries, the only other choice to make it fit with the other information you want to place on the page seems to be to reduce the size of the type face and the cells.

Good luck,

Doug
