When using OOoImpress, you have the ability to save in Microsoft Powerpoint (.ppt) format. This is what you need to do i f you or someone else plans to use Powerpoint later on to edit/present the presentation.
It works pretty well - my boss does not even know I use OOo Impress when I forward the .ppt slides to him.
