actually i think the cause could be found if you could post the document 
itself - that way it's a lot easier to find out what is that grey area

Both ;), but yes the grey box does print (when it's not supposed to), if 
you look at my original email, there is a link for a screenshot.
So I decided to nuke my openoffice.org directory that contains my 
personal settings and start again, now the grey box can be removed....weird
