This sounds like you have the "value highlighting" box checked. Click on TOOLS => OPTIONS => SPREADSHEET => VIEW then uncheck the Value Highlighting box (upper right quadrant, 4th checkbox down) I hope this helps. Joe John Barman wrote: Hello friends/ A most peculiar thing has happened in one of my spreadsheets (that was originally converted from Lotus 1-2-3). Anything that I enter in a cell that is number formatted , changes colour from the normal black setting to, in most cases, a blue font. I say "in most cases" as number entries that were originally coloured red, are now showing as green! The cell formatting shows the entries as black, and there seems to be no way of correcting it. Hitherto, I have worked the same spreadsheet for some years in both Excel and 1-2-3 but have not encountered this before. It would be nice to find there is a simple remedy, but I am suspecting that something has got corrupted in OpenOffice. Suggestions will be most welcome!John B |
