I suppose it has arisen because all of my spreadsheets in current use were
those converted from 1-2-3 (via Excel), they didn't pick up the default
settings - so I found the iterations not set correctly (the number of changes
was set at 0. Language was also set at English (USA).

What's your locale setting, and what do you see under "Minimum Change"
on the "Calculate" page? The error message is for invalid input in that
field.
