Subject: Re: [users] Global Macros for Calc

I need to make several macros available for all Calc spreadsheets, both
new and old. I found, in the FAQs, how to make a macro globally
accessible however the description mentions the 'soffice' library
object. I can find it in 1.1.4 but not in 1.9.95. There is apparently
a change in library structure in the later version. Can some one give
me a hint how to proceed? And can I limit the 'globalness' to Calc
only?

There is primarily a change in the user interface, not in the implementation (as far as storage locations is concerned). I could explain it, but that would take time and I already documented this...

Download the document titled "Getting started with macros". This is a modified chapter one from my book to reflect one of the few changes wiht the new release of OOo. I address your issue around page 6.

I do not believe that you can limit the "globalness" to only Calc documents, but you can verify that you have a Calc document in the Macro itself.

Thank you very, very much Andrew.

I have your original book on the subject and it will be a great help as I wean myself from Microsoft Office. In fact, I was just about to email you asking you the question I posed but decided to wait and see if I got a reply from the list. 'Lo and behold, there you were.

The documentation site you gave me has a whole lot of good stuff in addition to what I was interested in at the moment and I'm sure I will be going back to it often.

Thanks again.
