I can confirm that working with a large document ( the 2.0 user guide, in this case @4.5Mb) does lock the document and I have noticed that during the save OOo1.9mX is a bit of a cpu hog. (Yes, I know it's the compression) that slows down access to other apps. Certain of the 1.9 series from m91 on can also be cpu hogs at idle.
