It sounds as if all of the sheets are selected. Look at the bottom of your 
spreadsheet window (normally "Sheet1" "Sheet2" "Sheet3"). Click on only one 
of the names to input data in only one sheet. To input data in multiple 
sheets, use Control and the left mouse button to select additional sheets.
