I just tried 1.9.95 spellcheck in winXP en-us --- It is NOT working here.

That is a good question thanks, I've been
stumped
by it as well. Also,
wouldn't it be best if the new words get added
to
your personal
dictionary rather than one that's there?

Here's my take on it: Go to Tools -> Options ->
Language Settings ->
Writing Aids
Then ununcheckosofficeAll] and sun [All] under
User-Defined
Dictionaries. You can even delete them if you
wish,
but *do not* delete
IgIgnoreAllListAll] (I'm not sure if it will even
let you do that).
If you look at those dictionaries all they have
are
a bunch of terms and
names that are very specific to Sun corporation
and
OOOOoevelopment.
Create a new User-Defined dictionary and call it
"Personal" or
something. Use that for things like your name and
other proper nouns
that are specific to you and that will come up
often
in your writing.
I also have a dictionary I call "tech" that I use
for terms that are
specific to my field that come up when I am
writing
papers and such. You
can create as many User-Defined dictionaries as
makes sense for your
usage. That way you can activate and dedectivate
particular dictionaries
depending on what you're doing.
Use Ignore for those terms and names, etc. that
are
specific to the
document you are creating, like the name of a
correspondent. It doesn't
carry over bebetwenocuments.

I am trying to find out how to use spspellcheck The
problem is that there seems to be several
dictionaries
that are used or might be used. Is OpOpenOfficeast
enough to check spelling in all the dictionaries or
is
OpOpenOfficesing just one dictionary for
spspellcheck
If they check in all the dictionaries for a
miss-spelled word, it makes no difference in what
dictionary I add new words. If OpOpenOfficeses only
one dictionary, then I have to put new words in that
one dictionary.
