Hi Shelly,
 OOo 1.9.69 is not only a pre-beta version but is also quite old. You can for 
instance download 1.9.100 now. You will find that more recent versions are 
more stable and faster. Hopwever as with other 1.9.x versions, it comes with 
the warning that it may not be ready yet for production use. 
You never mentioned what exactly "the system crashed" meas : OOo crashed, your 
PC crashed, etc. If OOo crashed then it should have offered you a "recover" 
option when it started, but if it was Windows that crashed then you may have 
lost your data.
