Step by step:
1) Set the page size of your *document* to 8 1/2 tall by 5 1/2 wide. You
can have as many pages as you like, it doesn't have to be a multiple of
4. OOo will sort out what should be printed next to what (eg with an 8
page document, 1 next to 8, 2 next to 7 etc).
2) File|Print. Now under Properties make sure the *paper* is set to 11
by 8 1/2 landscape. Under options tick "left pages" and "brochure".
Print.
3) Pick up the pile of pages, turn it over top to bottom (not left to
right) and replace in printer. Repeat (2) but with "right pages" ticked
instead of "left pages"
Hope that helps

This should be formally documented in the FAQs and User Guides. It would
save a lot of screwing around time for a few people.

I hope this means that you will write up the HOW-TO. To submit it,
please open an issue for documentation/HOW-TO and assign it to me so I
can put it on-site.
I meant it as a complement of sorts. Those kind of step-by-step
procedures for things are very helpful when doing something that's
somewhat less than intuitive. You could practically copy 'n paste his
step-by-step instructions into an FAQ entry.
Having such a HOW-TO would no doubt help those who have trouble with the
short descriptions in Help and the User Guides.
Indeed. There are a lot of things like that. It's nigh onto impossible
to anticipate everything that anybody would want to do and include
instructions in a User Guide. That's the beauty of a community driven
FAQ, IMHO.
BTW, Andy's step-by-step rewords what I wrote in
http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=users&msgNo=93282
I don't doubt it, but finding things in the list archives is an order of
magnitude harder than locating material in FAQs etc. Now that the spring
semester is done and I have the summer off, I may find some time to
write up a few things that seem to come up a lot.
