     Go to www.openoffice.org.
In the green rectangle, click on "The stable version (1.1.4)" (Make
sure you do not click on "The Beta version" as you do not want this
one. It is for people testing out new features which will be available
in the future.)
Enter your language, your operating system (windows, Mac, Linux,
etc.), and your download site. (There are several listing for most
countries. Pick one that is fairly close to you. Every download site
has the exact same file.
After you have downloaded the file, you will need to extract it
since it is a zip file. It will extract into its own folder. Make sure
you write down where that folder is located. (For windows, there are
several programs which will unzip the file.) If you are not sure about
this point, please reply to this list: [email protected] with what
operating system you are using.
Read the setup_guide.pdf which will be found in the folder with the
extracted files. Follow its directions to install the OpenOffice.org
office suite.
There is a wealth of information at
http://documentation.openoffice.org for you to read and study once you
have install the program.
