I also read the issue that has been lodged and therefore understand
the arguments. However from my perspective it should save a version on
closing, even if the document is saved as well - ie, save, then close
- version saved.

This, for me, is used to track what has changed in a document over
time. By doing so I can check to see what has happened say 4 days ago
by selecting the appropriate version. If I only have the recent copy
this becomes hard to do.

Will wait for the people that have it under control to handle the
issue that has been raised.
