Yes, there are a couple of methods. One is to use "Save as" and then select Word format (also ensure automatic file name extension is selected). You can then attach the Word file in the usual way. The other is to click on File > Send > E-mail as Microsoft Word, which should open up your email app, with the Word file already attached.
